Heceta Head Light Oregon - July 1998 Nikon F2 w/135mm Nikkor
A light drizzle had dampened another days shoot, but, remembering what the "big photographers" all say, I went to Heceta Head a couple of hours before sunset anyway. Voila!! A bright sun broke through only a few minutes before setting, providing me with one of my favorite images. By the way: this image reflects what I try to do with all of my photographs.....maybe it didn't look exactly like the view in the image when I was standing there, but it sure did feel that way. Darkroom notes - I darkened the top of the sky to move the eye down, and lightened the top strip of the ocean to aid in moving the eye across the scene. Surprisingly, I needed to burn in the light itself for 20 seconds to prevent it from being a dime-sized white spot.
